I have to first premise that I was SUPER unsure about using oils. I thought because I had oily skin it would make it worse and who would’ve thought that oils would help someone not breakout?! I was totally skeptical. BUT I decided to try it after hearing about it so many times on my favorite online morning show “The Morning Toast” along with several youtube videos (Sarah Therese, The Skinny Confidential) I watched! I started using oils about 3 weeks ago during my facial routine, and I have noticed such a difference. I have struggled with breakouts and an un-even skin tone for years, and have tried SO many different products with nothing working that great! So here’s to using oils & loving them!
AM Routine:
- Rinse my face with plain water.
- I typically do this to wake me up & it also helps refresh my face but it doesn’t strip the oils from my skin that have been soaking all night longggg!
- Repeat part of nightly routine 🙂
- Derma Roller. I use this in upwards directions across my entire face. I will then use it in horizontal diagonal directions (but always going up). I heard someone say, “why massage your face downwards when you want young looking, not sagging skin?! Always massage up.”
- Collagen. I then use the Advanced Clinicals Collagen Serum. I pat this serum into my “problem areas” or the areas that are prone to fine lines. My forehead, in between my eyebrows, and under my eyes.
- Tea Tree Oil. I use this to spot treat any pimples.
- I use very little! This bottle will last FOREVER!
- Frankincense + Lotion. Just like the Lavender I roll a small amount of oil into my hand then a pump of lotion.
- I rub my palms together until oils mix and apply all over my face! I love the smell of lavender so this oil mixture is my favorite!
- I haven’t found a great lotion yet so for now I am using up the last of Nourish Organic Face Lotion. This one seems a bit watery, so I am still on the lookout for a great all natural cream!
Apply Makeup and you are all set to go!
PM Routine:
- Oil Cleanser. I wasn’t to keen on making my own (especially if I didn’t end up liking it, I didn’t want a ton of oils leftover) so I decided to go with one from Target! Fatco Cleasning Oil is super easy to use! I follow the exact directions on the back.
- Oil in Palm. Massage all over face (including eyes to remove mascara). Use washcloth and hot water to steam it all into pores. Remove oil from skin with washcloth.
- Derma Roller. I use this in upwards directions across my entire face. I will then use it in horizontal diagonal directions (but always going up). I heard someone say, “why massage your face downwards when you want young looking, not sagging skin?! Always massage up.”
- *Derma Roller Note* I don’t typically use the derma roller if I have a breakout. I personally feel like rolling over a breakout would cause an even bigger irritation!
- Lavender Oil + Acure Marula Oil. Finally I apply a small amount of lavender oil into my palm and one pump of the Marula Oil.
- I rub my palms together until oils mix and apply all over my face! I love the smell of lavender so this oil mixture is my favorite!
Then it’s off to bed!
