As a long time nanny (7 years) turned new momma I have seen and used so many different baby products out there. When I first started creating my registry it was kind of overwhelming. So many OPTIONS with so many OPINIONS about each product.
I first chose where I wanted to register. There were so many products I knew I wanted from several different companies and stores. This is why I chose BABYLIST. It gave me the opportunity to use any link to any site for any product I wanted! It was perfect and so so easy to use! My registry obviously has way more than 10 items but as a new mom, and after some research I chose my top favorite items!
#1 CRIB. I wanted a crib that could last through more than one babe plus convert into a day bed for my little as she gets older! I wanted wanted something sturdy but still not overpriced, and finally I wanted a two tone (natural and white) crib. I chose the Baby Mod Marley 3-in-1 Convertible Crib.
#2 STROLLER. This was a tough call for me. I had a specific one in mind, but after some research I decided against it. The requirements for what stroller I wanted: Jogger, carseat attachment, newborn approved, lightweight, all black. I finally chose and tested out the The 2018 Bumbleride Indie. After testing it out I LOVED it!! It was SO easy to fold, had a great storage basket underneath, lightweight, smooth when walking, and it stands completely on its own once folded!
#3 BASSINET. I knew from my live in nanny position I wanted the same bassinet I used for the little one I nannied at the time! It was so simple but so cute. I chose a Moses Basket Bassinet along with the rocking stand. I love that the basket detaches and I can bring it into different areas of our home if she is awake or if she needs to be contained in one space for a moment!
#3 SWING. Since Luke and I live in a small studio space, I needed a product that was basically 3 in 1! The Graco Duetsoothe Swing + Rocker was perfect! I have not had personal use but after watching A LOT of reviews and reading about it, I thought it would work perfectly. The swing itself swings horizontally as well vertically. The chair spins so the baby can also face different directions. The other thing I loved about this product was the fact the entire chair removes from the swing frame and can sit on its own as a rocker. The rocker also has a handle for it to be moved around easily without bending over and picking up the entire chair portion.
#4 CAR SEAT. I wavered back and forth about what car seat to get because again. OPTIONS. lol After several friends (who have already had little babes) raved about the Maxi-Cosi Mico Max 30 Infant Car Seat. I decided to go with it! I also loved that it was all black and would match our stroller! It also had attachments to fit with the Bumbleride Indie.
#5 DIAPER BAG. I knew exactly what I wanted as a diaper bag when I found out I was pregnant. As a nanny I have realized two arms are always better than one when on the go! I had my eye on the Freshly Picked Diaper Backpack! It was leather, which will clean super easy as well as hold up for a long time, it was still stylish, and it wasn’t too bulky, but would fit everything I needed in one spot. I am probably overly excited to get to use this bag! I also wanted Luke to have a more manly diaper bag. I chose on off amazon for his “dad bag”. Luke’s dad bag has all the essential baby compartments needed in a regular diaper bag as well as a large backpack space for extra items!
#6 WHITE NOISE MACHINE. This is one of those items you don’t think about immediately! Luke and I both sleep with a noise machine at night and it really is amazing! I also used one during my live in nanny days when taking care of the newborn! we shared a room and while she slept I still wanted to get things done or watch tv. The noise machine helped mask some of that sound. The Mybaby HoMedics SoundSpa On-The-Go is a great product to take with you! I used it all the time at Disneyland, at the park, at the mall, or just on the go in general (put it in the stroller).
#7 SWADDLE. I swear by swaddles! They were such a lifesaver as a nanny when getting the little one to sleep through the night. A lot of the times she woke up because she had managed to break free of her blanket swaddle or even the velcro swaddle! the zipper swaddles are perfect, and worked great! The best newborn ones I used were the SwaddleMe Pod.
There are so so many other items on my registry, but these were the top picks as a new mom I instantly knew I wanted/needed. Hope this helps any new mommas out there too! Full registry linked her —> BABYLIST.
I will also be following up on these products, and others on my registry once baby girl is here, and we have had the chance to use the items! 🙂 STAY TUNED!
